Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (Review and Step by step instruction for application)

Hello guys. Here is Miss Vee with a beauty blog post. This time I thought I’d share my experience with Sally Hansen nail polish strips. It was the first time I’ve tried it and I really have enjoyed the result. It was easy, quick and neat. Even if you were to put the strips with only one color and no pattern it is still well worth it. You know how sometimes difficult it is not to mess up your cuticle, when you put the color on, well these solve the problem, no mess and no stress!

The only down part is the price $$$. One box of these nail polish strips costs about $7-10 depending on the store and promotion they have. If you use those strips for all nails you can only use them for 1 manicure and then i figured you can use the rest for accents on 1-2 fingers for the other time, so there won’t be enough to make 2 manicures if you cover each nail. So just keep that I mind.

The other day I tried these nail polish strips and even for the first time it was really easy. I did want to follow the instruction, but midway through the process I actually found a much easier and more effective way for myself to apply these.

Here is the step by step description with pictures so I can illustrate exactly how I did it.
These are the ones i got to test. WANT TO KNOW THE BOTTOM LINE JUST SCROLL DOWN!

One box of nail strips includes 16 nail polish strips, nail file and buffer and a cuticle stick:

1. First of all it's important to start with your manicure or at least preparing your nails for application, file them slightly, so that the texture of the nail is not to glossy and the nail strip can adhere much more effective. After that i like to use a little acetone to take away any oils or moisture.

2. Today I used a more fun and edgy texture to experiment. What a name 350 Misbehaved!

Choose the best matching size for the nail. I started off with the biggest ones, to make sure all the bigger sized nails are fully covered. Then the instruction says to peel off the protective plastic cover  first, then to peel nail polish strip from backing paper and then brake silver tab from the strip. Then you can apply it to the nail lining it up with the cuticle line.

I apply them to the nails with the transparent layer, so i have a bit more flexibility to adjust the strips just right. So first i remove the backing paper, then place the strip on the nail, adjust it and then remove the clear protective layer. Here is the picture of how it looks midway.

3. After that i just smooth out the strip and when i am happy with the positioning i remove the top transparent layer.

4. Then i can go in with the cuticle stick and press in with the flat side to make sure all the edges adhere properly also that way i remove any access strip on the sides. Be gentle while working with the cuticle stick, don't press to hard, because you may destroy the strip.

5. Now i can finally remove the access strip from the tip. What i liked doing is just pulling it gently away from the nail and down. It pretty much cuts by itself against the nail. Then i just file down the edges to the perfection :) as it's shown in the instruction:

In the end i also decided to apply the top coat to make the appearance more glossy and shiny. In the end don't forget to add some cuticle oil and you are all done!!!!

Here is the final result with different light:

BOTTOM LINE!

1. Great for special occasions, when you want it to be perfect and don't have much time for all of that hassle with base coat and two layers of the polish, just pop on these and you are good to go.
2. Great to create funky look with different complicated patterns.
3. Perfect for creating 1-2-3(how many you want :) nail accents
4. A little expensive for using on regular bases.
5. Intense colors don't make your nails yellow even without a base coat.
6. Lasted about 3-4 days before started chipping a bit on the edges. Pretty good result for me.
7. Super easy to remove, doesn't stain the nail or the skin around it when you remove the strip with the acetone.

This is it. Sorry, this huge "poem" is over!
Hope it was helpful.

DIY Spray Paint Home Decor. Add Color Accents and Upgrade You Interior!

Hello folks,
Glad to be back with a DIY post. My first one! Heheeeey!
This one is a very easy technique and it can change the entire interior of your home.
I love spray paint, because it can transform any old object into a completely new and modern designer pieces and as I said, it is so easy to do.
Also sometimes if you are searching for a particular color, it is sometimes hard to find exactly the combination of the shape and the color and the size that you want. Using a spray pain you only need to concentrate on the size and shape and you can change the color for any color you need.

Here I have a few pieces, that i needed to upgrade:

There is a very old table from my grandpa, it is a bit too dark for my balcony, so I want to add some color on the glass surface. (I already have pulled out the brown glass part and prepared it for the spray paint):

This one is a tray or a plate, I'm not exactly sure what it's called, I guess the tray for candles from IKEA. It is in white, I wanted to use it for my perfumes in bedroom, so I need to paint it in gold, for it to match the interior of the room.

And finally a little bonus , I decided last minute to paint it, that's why I forgot to take a picture of it before that, but this is a jewelry holder/tree from Amazon. It was dark grey color, I figured, gold would look so much better in my bed room. This is the image i managed to pull out from my Amazon order:

Let's start  with the table. Here I'm using 2 different spray colors: silver and lavender. I chose an easy way to create a pattern using masking tape. Before spraying, make sure to cover the surface of the area thoroughly, because it sprays all over the place, best is to do it outside. I didn't have an opportunity to do that, so I ended up cleaning up after using some cotton balls and acetone:

After spraying just let it dry for a bit. The most wonderful thing is, that this paint dries very quickly.

Then you just remove the tape and enjoy the result:

With the tray it was even more easy, just spray one side, let it dry, turn over spray the other side, let it dry and you are all done!

And here is the result!

Exactly the same thing with the jewelry tree. The only difficulty was, that since the texture is so uneven it was hard to cover it with the paint evenly. So just take your time and spray it with a very thin layer, so that you don't create the drops:

And see how cutie it came out!!!

Last thing i would like to mention about this technique, that you should be careful with the chose of paint. I chose the one that it's pretty strong, but it did have a reaction with one of my perfumes, that leaked, so it dissolved the paint layer a bit. Next time I'll try to use another more durable paint.

Thanks so much guys.
Hope this post have inspired you and helped to learn something new!

Love ya'll!!!

Hi guys!!!
Couldn't wait to share this with you.
My passion for whales and orkas is so huge. I always wanted to  see them and finally during my business trip to Alaska (you know, that i am working on cruise ships) I did the whale watching tour and got so lucky to catch two different humpback whales showing their tales.

So, I just uploaded a new video on my other channel Solowicky. If you like, you can follow this link to watch in HD quality, which i strongly recommend for this type of content, or just watch it right here. Enjoy!

Talk to you soon!

OOTD Black & White Classics With Some Edge.

Hi guys!!!! Finally I got some time to do blogging again and a vlog is coming up pretty soon as well, so i am sooo excited. I'm sorry for been absent for so long, but all this ship life and then also my new place at home, that i needed to set up. So now i am all settled in, got my office set up, so i can work on my bloggs and vlogs properly.

So for todays OOTD i chose a very popular and always favorite of mine black and white combination. This is a very versatile color combination that can create classic as well as very funky and edgy looks, thats what i love about it. As for my own preference i choose more of a classic with a bit of bohemian style. For my figure i prefer black buttom and white top, it creates desired forms especially using this belt with metallic accent. A lot of people though dont mind wearing white buttom and black top..... Well.... i won't do that, coz the girl got some b... bleesing.... :)))) So we don't want the white color make certain parts in the bottom even bigger......
I also paired my black and white outfit with these green pumps, because it is summer and i just wanted a pop of color and a bit of edge to the look. Love how it came out.

I'm wearing:
Shoes - Marks and Spencer
Skirt - Zara
Jacket - Mango
Belt - New Look
Blouse - Charlotte Russe
Watch - Michael Kors
Pendant - Zultanite Gemstone and Diamonds
Hoops and Ring - Wilkerson Diamond Jewelry
Bracelet - Pandora

Thanks for yor time.
Love you all, glad to be back.

Los Angeles Sailing and San Juan Del Sur

Hey guys.
Hope all is well and you are enjoying your Monday, or have enjoyed your Monday, depending on the time zone.
I have to apologize for my previous blog, the Internet wouldn't cooperate, so i didn't get to upload the video. Now i have 17% left, so hopefully you will be able to see my "master piece" here. Sorry about that. But i have warned you about my travels and my challenge to find proper WiFi!!!!!! Didn't I!!!!???
YES Veronika, you did!!!!!!
Anyway....
Here i am in San Juan Del Sur in Nicaragua. Very interesting place, it reminds me of Greece and Mexico, i thought it would be more like Costa Rica with loads of plants and green around the area. But it looks a bit like a desert...... But still has it's beauty....

The cruise tough have started very pretty in LA.... We meet up with Queen Mary and there were fire works in the evening, that was awesome....
The sunset is amazing actually and a combination with the fireworks and the view from the balcony....
WOOOW....

The most wonderful part of this sailing from LA was seeing the wales and a huge group of dolphins this time around.... Last time i even saw the sea turtles as well..... Managed to capture only the dolphins.....
They were a bit far for my camera, but you can tell the group was huge......

This is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job!!!!
ANOTHER ONE IS JEWELRY OFF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!
:)))))

And here is a little sneak peak at San Juan del Sur.... We'll talk about the jewelry next time, i promise!!!

Hope you enjoyed this little post!
